1 . As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” And one neighborhood in our community truly understands the importance of coming together to support each other.

Last summer, a couple with their family moved into our neighborhood. They had a daughter named Lily, who was born with a physical disability that made it difficult for her to walk. However, she was always seen with a smile on her face. She would like to make friends with others and be a part of the community.

When Lily played outside with her new neighbors, she faced a challenge. Because of her disability, she couldn’t take part in some of the activities the other kids were taking part in. And it was hard for them to understand her needs. This made Lily feel a little upset and left out.

But instead of giving up, the community decided to come together and find a way to get Lily involved in their activities. The process was not always easy. It took one year’s effort for the community to get used to the needs of their new friend. As time went by, Lily became more confident and she felt like she truly belonged.

Lily’s parents were excited to see the changes in their daughter. They were thankful to live in a community that made sure every child felt valued. Lily’s family had expressed their thanks for the positive influence Lily had to the community. She brought them closer together, developing a unity (团结) and compassion (同情心) they had never experienced before.

People of our community had not only raised a child but had also grown together, it becoming a shining example of hugging differences in our community.

Sarah Dewitz was a ten-year-old girl who lived in a small town. She noticed that many children in her community didn’t have chance to get books, which made learning and exploring (探索) new ideas difficult for them. This made Sarah very sad, and she decided to do something to help them.

With her own efforts, Sarah started a project called Just 1 Book. She collected books from family, friends, and neighbors and gave them away to the children who needed them most. She also organized (组织) charity events and sold homemade things to raise money for more books.

As her project grew, Sarah’s kindness caught the attention of people in her town. Volunteers started to join her, and books poured in from all over the country. In a short time, Just 1 Book collected half a million books!

To make sure that these books reached the children who needed them most, Sarah raised money to buy a bookmobile. In this special bus, there were bookshelves and seats, and it traveled to different communities, bringing books directly to the children. The bookmobile became a beautiful sight in the town, and children were always happy to welcome its visits.

Sarah’s hard work and kindness had a big influence on the children’s lives. By providing them with books, she opened their eyes to the world and filled them with hope. She showed them that with the power of reading, they could dream big and achieve anything they set their minds to.

As Sarah grew older, Just 1 Book continued to grow. She still stuck SD to helping others and hoped to encourage other young people to take action and make a difference in their communities.

6 . In a community in northern China, there is a voluntary team called “Shared Children”. It tries to help elderly empty nesters (空巢老人).
