So he had to think about how to help those poor children. At last, he got the idea of selling books. He always carried books that weighed more than 10 kilos, although he was just over 40 kilos.

In 1995, Zhou visited the Hope Primary School in the mountains of Jinzhai, Anhui for the first time, after travelling over 600 kilometres by train, by bus and on foot. In the following years, he went there 100 times with donations (捐赠物). On May 18th, 2018, Zhou finished his 100th journey. “As long as I can move, I am looking forward to the 101st and 102nd journeys.”

However, he couldn’t make the trip again because of his bad health. Zhou has given away about 500,000 yuan, and changed over 1,300 students’ lives.
