Have you ever done or thought about volunteering before? Volunteering means spending time and effort (精力) to help somebody or something. As for me, I’ve volunteered at an animal shelter (收容所) to help feed and t    1     dogs for a walk.

Back in 2021, some friends and I went to an animal shelter outside of Beijing. There, I was able to p    2     animals with some food. There were not only dogs at the shelter, however. I saw many kinds of other animals as w    3    , such as foxes and chickens.

Our main p    4     was to help the dogs by giving them walks. Many of the dogs stayed in big cages (笼子) along with other dogs and a    5     from a big bowl together. I felt a bit sad for the dogs b    6     many of them looked old and needed a bath.
