Kyle Breede, a 12-year-old boy from Maryland, the USA, has done that ever since he was six years old. On November 19th every year, Kyle invites his friend to his birthday celebration. He asks each friend to bring new toys to donate to Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots is a project which gives out toys to children whose parents cannot usually buy them toys. Kyle has donated more than 2000 toys to the project. And he plans to continue collecting toys for other kids for years to come.
When Kyle was five, he asked his parents how he could help others. Kyle’s parents were excited to hear that and they helped him get in touch with Toys for Tots. From then on, he has looked forward to his birthday, but only to get toys. Then he collects the toys and goes to the Toys for Tots celebration to donate them.
John Minadakis, who hosted a Toys for Tots celebration, said he had never seen someone give so much at such a young age. He believed the ability to put others before himself could take the boy far in life.
Kyle hopes that through his example, other kids will be inspired (激励) to give back. “Many people around my age don’t have toys to play with. I want to do something,” Kyle said. “Even the smallest toy can make a kid’s day.”

7 . International Volunteer Day is on December 5 every year. It started on December 17, 1985. It is a day to honor (尊重) volunteers all over the world.
Every day and every minute, lots of volunteers around the world work out of their own kindness and love to make the world a better place. They take care of the environment, build schools, teach kids, care for animals ... Most volunteers work without getting paid, and many do so using their own money. We should all appreciate (感谢) their work. International Volunteer Day gives us an opportunity(机会) to do so.

Ten years ago, I lost my job in Hangzhou. I had to move to Shanghai to find another job. I left my wife and children behind. I missed them very much, so I went home on weekends to see them.
A few days after New Year’s Day, I drove my old car back to Hangzhou. On the way, my car broke down. It was so cold and I didn’t know what to do. Suddenly, a young man drove up.
