Clothes Donation (捐赠) Box
Have you ever put your old clothes into the donation box in your neighborhood? If not, you can do it right now because the clothes donation is becoming a trend (趋势) in Urumqi (乌鲁木齐).

4 . Xu Binghui first donated (捐献) his blood on his 18th birthday. He had waited for a long time to make his first blood donation, because people under 18 years old are not allowed to donate blood.
“My mother was seriously ill when I was 8 years old. She lost her life because of bad medical conditions.” Xu said. He decided to become a blood donor from then on as he knew his donation might save someone else’s life. Xu has donated blood over 40 times since 2010.

A special kitchen is next to Jiangxi Cancer Hospital, in Nanchang. At mealtimes, family of the hospital’s patients (病人) use the kitchen ones.
The kitchen was a breakfast stall (摊) at first, and it was run (经营) by a husband and wife, Wan Zuocheng and Xiong Gengxiang. One day, in 2003, a young woman asked if she could use it to cook food for her son who was in hospital. Wan and Xiong agreed. Later on, they gave cookers to people for free to help them cook for family in hospital. In 2004, the world came alive to The Chorus, a French film which tells us how a teacher brings love and hope to his students through music and then makes a difference to their lives.
Now the similar story happened at Haiga Primary School in Liupanshui, Southwest China’s Guizhou Province, where Gu Ya, a 37-year-old teacher, helps children in mountainous areas learn to read music, play instruments, and start rock bands.
In September 2016, Gu Ya, a then rock singer, arrived at the school as a Chinese teacher. “When I got there, there was only a teacher and fewer than ten students in two grades. It was really surprising. The kids were too shy to look at me in the eyes,” Gu said. “The day I arrived, Zheng Long, the headmaster of the school, told me that we had to care about not only the children’s studies and lives, but also their health in mind, helping them learn to dream and be more confident.”
To open the hearts of the students and bring them confidence, Gu decided to teach them music.
