The story will gently teach children how to prevent the disease (疾病) in a language that they can easily understand. It will help kids keep calm in the hard time, and lead them to help family members to prevent the disease.
	A Brief History of Viruses for Children (Writer: Changsha White-flag Dolphin Children’s Book Workshop) This storybook tells the beginning of the virus, so the readers can understand the history of the virus easily. The book sets up a “Ten Questions About COVID-19” section, which explains the knowledge of COVID-19 (including how it goes around), helping children readers to understand the virus basing on (基于) reason and science.

2 . Most students do not enjoy doing housework. Some of them think that cleaning the bathroom or cooking dinner for their family is boring. However, if you try the following ways, you will find that housework is not as boring as you think.

◆Learn to do small things

You should learn to do small things, for example, you can do the dishes, sweep the floor or make the bed. Part of growing up is to be able to take care of yourself. Doing some small things around the house shows that you are becoming responsible (有责任感的).

◆Divide (划分) housework among the family

In fact, it’s too tiring for one person to do all the housework alone. It’s good to divide housework into different parts. All the family members will do the housework together. Dividing housework among all the family members will make everyone’s job much easier.

3 . In the United States, every year, Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday of November. Because Canada is to the north of the United States and is colder, the harvest comes earlier in a year. In Canada, people have Thanksgiving Day on the second Monday in October.

The harvest brings a lot of food to people. On Thanksgiving Day, people in Canada and America like to have a big meal with their friends and family just like Chinese people do at the Mid-Autumn Festival. Many Canadians and Americans put flowers, vegetables and fruits around their houses to say “Thank you” for the harvest. At a Thanksgiving Day dinner, many Canadians and Americans eat turkey, potatoes and pumpkin pies. These food are like the food of many years ago. They say “Thank you” for the harvest that comes every year.

4 . Life in the future will be different from life today. Between then and now many changes will happen. But what will the changes be?

The population（人口）is growing fast. There will be many people in the world and most of them will live longer than people live now.

Computers will be much smaller and more useful, and there will be at least（至少）one in every room. And computer studies will be one of the important subjects in schools then. People will work fewer hours than they do now and they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and travel. Traveling will be much cheaper and easier. And many more people will go to other countries for holidays.

There will be changes in our food, too. More land will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. Maybe no one will eat it every day. Instead they will eat more fruit and vegetables. Maybe people will be healthier. Work in the future will be different, too. Robots will do dangerous and hard work. Because of this, many people will not have enough work to do.

This will be a problem.

5 . Governments around the world are pushing for an end to plastic straws（吸管）and bags. More and more businesses are switching（转换）to paper products as an alternative（可供选择的事物）. Paper is considered by many to be better than plastic. However, it is harmful to the environment, too.

Firstly, paper bags and straws are made from trees. Trees, as you know, can reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere（大气）. They can slow down climate change. An increase in the use of paper bags can cause more deforestation（毁林）.

Secondly, the production of paper things requires more energy and water. About 10 percent more energy and four times as much water is used to produce a paper bag than a plastic one. You might say that we can use recycled paper to save that energy and water. This seems to be a good idea. However, it takes even more energy and water to go through the recycling process than to make a new paper bag. Products made from recycled paper are also often short-lived.

Furthermore, paper products are heavier than plastic ones. That means they require more fuel to transport. Seven trucks are needed to transport two million paper bags, while only one truck is needed to transport the same number of plastic bags. The increased weight also leads to a larger amount of waste once the bags are thrown away.

Paper products are actually a loss for both the environment and businesses. They are more expensive than plastic products. A paper straw costs about 5 to 12 cents, while a plastic one usually costs only about 2 cents. The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use things altogether. Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products. Through increasing the use of these items, you can greatly reduce your throwaway waste and truly make our earth a greener place!

Here is some “breaking” news: the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has added breaking(地板舞) into the 2024 Paris Olympic Games!

Breaking might be one of the very strange sports to be added to the Games, as it is seen as an art.

The dance style first appeared on the streets of New York in the 1970s. In the 1980s, breaking swept around the world when it was adopted (采用) by pop stars such as Michael Jackson. Young people worldwide were crazy about such kind of dance style.

Over the past few years, there has been a talk that the Olympic Games have become less interesting to young people. The IOC is trying to make the Games more “youthful”, with sports that young people do in their spare time. “We want to take sport to the youth, ”said IOC President Thomas Bach.

To be added to the Olympics, a sport must be practised by men in at least 75 countries on four continents (洲) and by women in no fewer than 40 countries on three continents. Also, it should be competitive and requires training just like other sports. Dancers need to have strong upper body and core strength. “It’s great that it gives us more recognition as a sport,” said British breakdancer Karam .

Colorful fruits and vegetables are good for our health. Their colors help us keep healthy. Green is good for our eyes. And it gives us strong bones and teeth. Blue and purple help us remember things well. They are good for our eyes, too. Red gives us healthy hearts. Yellow and orange give us much vitamin C.

For packaged（包装）foods, look at the ingredients（成分）. Don’t eat foods with more than five ingredients.
