In summer, there are serious floods (洪水) in some places. Floods, just like earthquakes, are dangerous. For example, they can destroy (摧毁) buildings and bridges. Knowing how to protect ourselves when facing floods is necessary.

Take a walk every day. Walking is an easy way to exercise. You’d better meet friends for a walk, not for a meal. As you walk, you will see the beautiful world around you.
Join some groups. Joining some groups can help you. Like sports teams, art or music groups. The people in the group can give each other advice and can help each other. Being in a group keeps your mind busy. An active (积极的) mind is a healthy mind!

10 . Food and water are necessary for our bodies. We can go without food for about two months. But we can only go without water for a few days. Why is water so important to our bodies? There are many reasons.
A person is about sixty to seventy percent water. Water helps all our bodies work properly. The cells (细胞) in our bodies need water to do their jobs. We lose water from our bodies every day. We lose it when we breathe. We also lose it when we sweat and when we go to the bathroom. If you don’t drink enough water, you won’t feel well, and you won’t look good, either. Not drinking enough can cause a headache or dry cough.
So how much water should you drink every day? The answer is not so simple. Most scientists say you should drink at least six to eight glasses a day. But sometimes you need even more. If you exercise, you will lose more water through sweat. You should drink water before, during, and after you exercise. If the weather is hot, you will also sweat more. You will need to drink more to replace that water, too.
You should also drink more if you are sick. This will help flush (冲洗) the germs (细菌) out of your body and help make you feel better.
