5 . Playing sports is a lot of fun. But getting hurt is unavoidable.     1

Wear protective equipment.

The equipment you wear depends on the sport you play. Helmets(头盔)are the most common protective equipment. They protect your head while you’re playing football, baseball and softball, biking and so on.

Warm up.

2     Doing some stretching exercises can get you prepared to play sports. By warming up, you get yourself ready to play. Warming up your muscles and practicing a sport help keep you safe, too.

Know the rules of the games.

Traffic lights help prevent crashes between the cars that drive on the roads together. This works because drivers know the rules and follow them--at least most of the time.    3     When players know the rules of the games, fewer injuries will happen. For example, you know that in football you can’t come from behind, crash into a player's legs and steal the ball. It's legal-and safer-to go after the ball rather than the player.

    4

Some rules have nothing to do with scoring points, They are just about protecting other people. For example, a diver would make sure that the pool is clear before diving in. Otherwise, he or she might land on someone else.

    5

This is a really important one. If you love sports, you may get right back to the game even you’re injured. But playing when you’re hurt is a bad idea. It can lead to an even worse injury.

A.Watch out for others.
B.Don’t do too much exercise.
C.It’s the same way with sports.
D.Don't play when you’re injured.
E.It’s not a good idea to just go to the field and start playing.
F.You and the other players know what to expect from each other.
G.Take these steps to prevent injuries so that you can stay in the game.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了瑜伽的由来,类型和益处。

6 . Yoga is an ancient physical and spiritual practice from India. The word “yoga” comes from Sanskrit (梵文) and means “to join” or “to unite”, symbolizing the union of body and mind. Today it is practised in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Recognizing its universal appeal, the United Nations declared June 2l as the International Day of Yoga in 2014 to raise awareness worldwide of the benefits of practising yoga.

Yoga is an invaluable gift from an ancient tradition. It’s not just about exercise but a way to discover the sense of combining yourself with nature and the world. There is no written record of who invented yoga. Yoga practitioners (从业者) passed down the practising ways to their students. The earliest written record of yoga is generally believed to have been written by Patanjali, an Indian master who lived somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 years ago.

Various yoga types give you many choices. Hatha yoga is the most widely practised type and is perfect for beginners. It is gentle with slow and smooth movements. Kundalini yoga includes a singing-part besides body and mental control. Bikram yoga is practised in a heated room. It is to relax muscles and to sweat to clean the body and remove disease and pain. Ashtanga yoga is taught as a difficult workout where you move quickly from one movement to another to build strength and patience.

文章大意:这是一篇新闻报道。文章以浙江大学学生李翔与两名同学开发的名为Weier的应用程序为例,介绍了中国大学生参加手机应用程序创新设计大赛的情况以及人们对此的看法。

7 . Chinese students are showing their enthusiasm and innovative thinking about mobile applications in coming up with a series of innovative apps to solve social problems and help enrich lives.

Li Xiang, a student at Zhejiang University, developed a mobile app with two schoolmates that can help users develop good habits by building and feeding virtual electronic pets.

A special digital pet is produced in the app Weier, which sounds similar to the English word “well”. A user’s daily behavior is used to help it grow.

“When users complete their daily exercise goals, their electronic pets will also be full of energy, and when they go to bed too late at night, their pets will have black circles under their eyes,” Li said. The digital pet is like a projection of the user in the virtual world. But unlike other digital projections that focused on the similarity with the user’s physical appearance, the app cares more about the user’s character and behavior.

The app is one of more than 1,400 projects developed by students from more than 500 universities in the 2021 Mobile Application Innovation Contest, co-organized by Zhejiang University and the US tech company Apple Inc.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, said in a post on Weibo that it was great to see the talent on display at the contest. Students designed winning apps that help deal with important issues like improving access to healthcare and technology.

“Many of these young developers have gone on to become entrepreneurs, developers and teachers in their own right, and they are using the skills they’ve learned to make the world a better place,” Cook said.

“Every student should have the opportunity to create something that can change the world, and we’ve seen firsthand how coding has changed the global economy, creating new industries and supporting millions of jobs,” said Isabel Ge Mahe, vice-president of Apple Greater China.

1. What is the designers’ aim of developing the app Weier?
A.To help users form better habits.B.To teach users how to raise pets.
C.To finish the daily tasks for the users.D.To help users learn more about themselves.
2. How is the digital pet produced in the app Weier different from others’?
A.It is always full of energy.B.It has black circles under its eyes.
C.It looks exactly the same as the users.D.It cares about users’ character and behavior.

A.Only students from Zhejiang University took part in it.
B.It encouraged Chinese students to improve creativity.
C.The winners will work in Apple Inc in the future.
D.It was organized by Apple Inc independently.
4. What is the text mainly about?

10 . In the U.S., about 30 million children and teens take part in some forms of organized sports, and more than 3.5 million injuries happen each year. Almost one-third of all injuries from childhood are sports-related injuries. More than 775,000 children, aged 14 and younger, are treated in hospital emergency rooms for sports-related injuries each year.

Obviously, some sports are more dangerous than others. For example, contact sports such as football can be expected to result in a higher number of injuries than a noncontact sport such as swimming. However, all types of sports have a potential for injury, whether from the collision (冲撞) with other players or from overuse or misuse of a body part.

Most of the injuries happen as a result of falls, being struck by an object and collisions during unorganized or informal sports activities. Some are caused by poor training practices, or not warming up enough.

There are two kinds of sports injuries. Acute injuries happen suddenly, such as sprained (扭伤) ankles. Chronic injuries happen after you play a sport or exercise over a long period of time.

Sports injuries are first treated with R-I-C-E: Rest, Ice, Compression (pressure on the injury), and Elevation (raise the injured area above the heart). Doctors will treat more serious injuries with medications, by limiting movement, or by recommending operations, physical therapy, and rest.

You can prevent many kinds of sports injuries by following safe exercise habits.

D.Jim has played basketball for many years and now his back often aches.
