Just a few tens of years ago, the options for studying abroad were few and far between. Today the marketplace is positively crowded, so much so that it’s difficult to know where to start. On the upside, this means you’re the master of your own future. So, if you’re serious about studying abroad, it’s time to get planning.
Studying abroad can also be expensive. Besides the cost of the actual education you receive, there are also other costs you need to think about—from flights and accommodation to food and sightseeing. “Eighty percent of American high school teens say they want to travel, but only 1 to 3 percent of them actually do it,” says Samantha Martin. “And we know finances (资金) are a huge part of the problem.” Last year, Samantha and her workmate Jennifer Thomas started Project Travel, a specialist website, to help more students “get on the plane or bus”. Students can ask for help with finances on the website for study, volunteer work, teaching and other types of educational travel. This type of method isn’t suitable for everyone, but there are other methods you can explore if you want to reduce the overall cost of studying abroad.

Kung Fu Club
When and where? Coaching available every day except Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm in the gym.

Costs: $2 a week. Chances to enter competitions at local and national levels.
Dance Club
Each dance group meets once a week after school in the gym and works on a number of modern dance routines. There are plenty of chances to perform at public shows if you wish, or you can just enjoy the fun.

4 . One morning, Wu Liang discovered that her classroom had changed. She found that the desks were no longer in rows, but pushed together to make eight bigger desks. The school made this reform because they wanted to offer students easier ways to study and more chances to discuss. “Our school hopes to improve students’ abilities to study by themselves and work in groups,” said Zhang Ming, an English teacher.
However, the reform has demanded more from teachers. Now they have only 15 minutes to give a lesson that would have been taught in 45 minutes before. It is difficult to teach in such a short time. The teachers have to find better ways to teach more effectively.
“The reform demands more, but I’m sure it is helpful,” added Zhang Ming.
