My grandfather, a retired teacher, is in his early eighty. Though problems came along with age, he never gives up learning. One day, I was taking the walk in my neighbourhood. There was a great many dogs playing around. I noticed a small one which hairs were pure white. It was a smart dog I couldn’t take my eye off. At that moment a little boy came up and wanted to play with him. Never before had the dog saw the boy, so it started to run after him or barked. In panic, the boy begged the dog not bite him. On a sunny day, the air was thin but we had to rest several time on the short hike from our camp. To our left, snow-covered mountains disappear into clouds that seemed almost closely enough to touch. On the plain in the front of us, we could just make out a herd of graceful animals. This was whether we were here to observe Tibetan antelopes.

Rope skipping is a sport suitable for people of all age. People skip for fun and exercise.

Last Sunday, I went skated on a lake with one of my best friend, Lucy. We having a good time on the ice when I suddenly hear someone shouting “Help”. I remember my first the visit to the dentist in the U.S. First, she started to cleaned my teeth. After a few minute she said, “Close.” Then I moved closer, right next to her, so she shook her head, pointing at my mouth. I final understood she wanted me to close my mouth. I am so embarrassed! Then I learned the difference between the verb close [kloʊz] which means “to shut” and the adjective close [kloʊs] referring “nearby”. Six months late, I went to the same dentist. This time when she said the word close, they both laughed. What an amused experience!
