I win the first prize in the Music Star Festival to held by my school last week. The song I sang was the Red Sun by David Lee. I chose a song because of the inspiration it took me. Every time I enjoy it I feel something warmth flowing in my heart. I can’t emphasize the importance of others’ encouragement too much. Not only can they make me happy, but also can encourage me to keep moving. When I were under pressure, I choose to listen to the song and catch my breathe.

Our school holds a special traditional culture exhibition hall on last month. Yesterday, I was lucky enough visit the exhibition hall, where is on the fourth floor in the laboratory building. There are varieties of objects represented Chinese traditional culture displayed in the hall, such as Chinese instruments, the “scholar’s four jewels” but different kinds of Chinese drawings. To be honest, I am amazed at the richnesses of Chinese traditional culture. I am pride of being a Chinese. I strong recommend you to pay a visit to the exhibition hall. My hometown Wu Wei , which lies in the northwest of Gansu Province, is a city with rolling hills, valleys and basins. It’s beautiful place for people to live in. Its economy has been growing rapid during the past ten year. New bridges and roads have been setting up and high buildings stood in many parts of the city. The number of schools and hospitals available to people are also on the increase. So there are still some problems, such as like frequent traffic jams and severe air pollution, which have a bad influence on people’s daily life. High school is regarded as best time of my life. Beside classes and homework, there’s something more that I especial treasure. I have various hobby, which make me feeling life is colourful. My favorite hobby is cooking because it is quite simply. I started to cook at about 10 years old, when I was home by me and got hungry. I just put together some bread, cheese and meat and make a sandwich. For then I have been cooking my own meal once a week. Cooking is also great way for me to reduce stress. The well-known Chinese opera, Hua Mulan, was putting on in the Grand Theatre last Saturday afternoon. It is based in a story about a young girl are named Hua Mulan. She replaced（代替）her father to join the army in disguise（乔装）as a gentleman and saved her country from the enemy. It was well worth watch. I invited my friend Mary, an exchange student in our school, to seeing it with me. I knew she was very interested in Beijing Opera. Last Friday, we had a great fun. On March 19 we took part on a Tang Poetry Recitation Contest in our school hall, completing last year. The competition enjoyed great popularity among us students.
