Hi, Eric! What to improve your spoken English is really a problem. I use to meet such a problem but now I speak English well. I listen to highly-quality spoken English every day and record my own speech. Play it back, I compare the pronunciation of the speakers with my and correct my wrong pronunciation. Besides, I practice speaking English in public as often as possible, which help me gain confidence and fluency. I hope these suggestions will benefit from you.
However, I have trouble in reading. But I know the meanings of most words, I can’t understand whole sentence because of some set idiom and phrases. Any good advice? I am eager for your help.

My father has two pots of flowers whose bloom every year during the Spring Festival. Last Sunday, we had a picnic with my uncle’s family in a park. It was a warmly sunny day and there were many tourists. They took various fruits and delicious cookies with us. I like to go running early in the morning before the breakfast. I am very happy when I try running and listen to a book on my iPod at the same time. I get lost on the story and forget that I am running. I always run long than I expected because I like listening to the story so much.

Last Friday, our grade hold a fun sports meeting, that aim was to relieve us senior three students from pressure. I, as well as my best friend, were asked to compete in the three-legged race.
The three-legged race required effective cooperation between teammates. Thus, during the days before the competition, we practised the game after the school.
Then came the big days. With my left foot and my friend’s right foot tying together, we set out fast as soon as our PE teacher blew his whistle. The playground was filled with our schoolmates cheers. A few minutes later, we tried hardly and crossed the finishing line quickly. By getting involved in the game, not only we get a little leisure from our busy school life but also I got the joy of working together with others.

I, together with my friend, went to Mount Tai by bus on last weekend. The scenery were beautiful beyond description and the weather was excellent that day, that made me smile from time to time. The path was crowded with visitors, who laughed and pause to enjoy the views frequently. It took us more than four hour to reach the summit. And that’s exhausted. We were considering making an incredibly English magazine, and without hands-on experience we didn’t know how to start it. For the purpose of reduced stress, a series of activities were held in the school playground in Mental Health Day this year. Students from three grade got involved in the activities actively. Among these activities, a lecture giving by a psychological professor provided us with professional guidance, which helped us understand when to deal with stress in life and study. Beside, a debate on Stress: Motivation or Depression were conducted among students. These activities turned out to be successfully, which we thought highly of them. What instructive activity it was!
