Joseph was my best friend. He was the only son of Adam Tan, a well-known former athlete and a member of the first Malaysia team to reach the South Pole in an exploration. Hence, many assumed Joseph to be as sporting as his father. However, since he was young, he has been a sickly boy. He suffered from a severe breathing problem and preferred to read books indoors.
A year ago, his father was stuck by a wild bull (公牛) on the last mile of his exploration in the Mautu wilderness in Africa and later died. On the anniversary (周年纪念日) of his father’s death, he was hurt by the unkind remarks from Bala and Azhar, his classmates. They had called him “a sickly boy”, remarking that he was a disgrace (丢脸的人) to his father. From that day on, Joseph devoted himself to building up his body and turned his attention and efforts enthusiastically to sports. “No one will compare me unfavorably to my father,” he thought.
Joseph joined our school exploration team and then became its leader. We were all excited when we learned that the school had planned an exploration in Kalimantan, Indonesia. It was also meant to be memory of Joseph’s father, who was its former adviser.
The exploration really tested our courage and skills. Though we had the help of our two teacher advisers, we were determined to succeed in the exploration which was to cross a and forest. The last stage was the forest and we were within sight of our target. We had only one more kilometer to cover before we would emerge from the forest and successfully complete our exploration in the required time. If we succeeded, we would be the first school team to have done that in record time.

2 . Prom (舞会) Time!
A school prom is a formal party to celebrate an important date at school such as the end of secondary school or after completing school exams in Year 12 (aged 17–18). Proms are held in July, around the end of exam time. The idea is to celebrate your time and work at school. Some schools pay a professional organisation to arrange it. Others hold it themselves with a school dinner in the school hall. But they all involve big parties and big dresses. Get a plan before you go!
Clothes
You should dress up for your prom with formal wear. Many teenagers commonly wear school uniforms, but on prom night girls exchange their uniforms for beautiful evening dresses and high heels (高跟鞋). Boys that are usually only seen in jeans and trainers when not at school dress up in a suit with a tie and smart shoes. The right hairstyle and make-up are important too.
Vehicles
Arriving at your prom in large 4x4 vehicles is very popular. But it is not the standard answer. Two girls with a sense of humour arrived at their school prom both dressed as Barbie. Did they arrive in a car? No, they travelled in a more original style: their mothers made each girl a life-sized Barbie box and they were trucked to the prom party in their boxes!
Cost
The school prom is big business. The average prom costs parents over ₤200 per teenager. Of course, not all families would like to spend so much money on their teenager’s prom. If your family doesn’t have the budget (预算) , you may save your pocket money or work part-time to cover the cost. There are popular jobs, including babysitting, shop work and working as a waiter or waitress.
According to the recent newspaper report, nearly 85% of schools in Britain have a prom. However, the modern school prom is not popular with most parents of teenagers.

4 . Young students can, and do, make a big difference. As an educator, you have the opportunity to spark (触发) a passion in students that will drive them to do their part to take care of the Earth. Here are activities you could add to your lesson plans to inspire your students on Earth Day:
Make signs for school and at home
Sometimes we just need a little reminder to help us change our habits. Have students think about what they can do at school and at home to help the environment and how they can encourage others to change their habits.
Make a video or presentation urging others to take action
Students can make a bigger impact if they influence others to do their part to protect the environment. Putting together a video or presentation also helps them internalize the material itself — they need to understand it before they can explain it to others. Presentations can be given in the classroom or even to the whole school. Eventually, they may be able to present their lessons and research at a local conference.
Show them examples of other students making a real difference
It's important for students to see examples of young environmentalists so they know they don't need to wait until they're older to make a difference. Learning about the work these young people are doing can give your students new ideas for how to protect the environment. It can open the door of possibilities for how to think about finding solutions to problems they can help solve.
Earth Day isn't just on April 22. It's every day. How will you celebrate Earth Day and help students make a difference year-round?

On January 5th, students in our school visited Robot World, which we saw a great variety of robot. It was amazed to find those robots could do a great number of things just like real people, including playing chess, playing piano and drawing pictures. What's more, the robots are in different kinds and shapes, which made us enjoyable. In addition, that excited me most was the show given by a group of robots. They danced just as if we were dancers on the stage. By visit Robot World, I have learned a lot about robots, especial about their functions and shapes. The great human wisdom is so powerful that it makes us to feel more comfortable to live in the world.
