Once there lived a girl named Melanie. The little girl was living with a dream. She wanted to be a ballet dancer. Her body was very flexible and she had a strong will power. Melanie’s parents never knew of the great dancing skills their daughter had until one day, they saw the little girl dancing with the beautiful steps of a ballerina.

“Isn’t it strange? Melanie is dancing so well without any formal training!” the mother said.

“We must give her ballet lessons to help her improve her skills,” her father said.

The following day, Melanie’s parents took her to a local dance training school. The teacher asked Melanie to dance. The little girl was happy and showed some of her favorite dance steps. However, the teacher didn’t seem interested in her performance.

“That’s OK. You can leave now!”the teacher said.

Melanie was shocked to hear this. So were her parents. They couldn’t believe their ears.

“The girl is common. She does not have the possibility to become a ballerina, ”the dance teacher said. “Don’t let her waste her time dreaming of becoming a dancer.”

Disappointed, Melanie and her parents returned home. Tears rolled down Melanie’s face. Her dreams were broken within a matter of minutes. Without confidence, Melanie never attempted to dance again. She completed her studies and went on to become a teacher in school.Life was good and she kept herself busy with family and work. However, whenever she happened to pass the school’s ballet room, memories of childhood dreams danced before her eyes.

4 . Dancing is fun, creative and can affect the way you think and feel. Whether you are a star dancer or find it hard to feel the beat, moving with music can be great for both your body and your mind.     1

Why do you dance? If you love dancing with your friends or jumping around to music on your own, you'll know that dancing makes you feel good     2     Now it's still a big part of traditions and celebrations around the world. Dancing is also a great way to let loose and have fun—even babies like to dance to music.

3     Whether you are into ballet, hip hop, jazz, or just love to freestyle, dancing is good for you in lots of ways. As well as being a great way to exercise, dancing produces feel- good chemicals in your brain, such as endorphins(内啡肽)and dopamine(多巴胺), which make you feel energized and less stressed. It also tunes into your emotions, helping you to express yourself and release your pressure.     4     That is why Mike Pickets from Raver Tots Company prefers to organize festivals that bring families together to enjoy the music.

What should you do? If you don't feel confident dancing in front of other people, try practicing some moves on your own first, like trying a free online dance class. Before you start, stretch to warm up your muscles, which helps maintain the flexibility and strength so that you don't get any injuries.     5     Make sure you repeat anything that you struggle with over and over again. Finally, share your energy with others if dancing makes you feel good.

A.How is dancing good for you?
B.After that, keep practicing your moves.
C.How does dancing change your lifestyle?
D.After that, remember to control your breathing.
E.The following may guide you into the dancing world if you still hesitate.
F.Thus dancing can bring you more happiness than any other social activities.
G.Humans have used dance to make bonds with each other for thousands of years.

5 . Can you imagine a world without music? Studies show that public schools across the country are cutting back on music classes to save money. Worse, some schools have never had music classes to begin with. But without them, students’ academic growth and emotional health could suffer. In fact, music classes are necessary for all students in schools.

Recent studies by Brown University have shown that students who received music education classes were better in maths and reading skills than those without music classes. Another study by the College Board found that students taking music and art classes got higher points. Students' academic success seems to depend on their taking part in music education.

Music programmes in public schools also help to add to a students sense of pride and self-confidence. Teens today have too many learning tasks. Besides, they have family problems, self-confidence problems, relationship troubles, and other troubles. All of these can stop academic success, but music education can help. A study by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse found that students who took part in school music programmes were less likely to turn to drugs. Music programmes encourage students to work together to produce an excellent performance.

Music crosses language, class, cultural and political boundaries. Music allows students from different countries to connect. For example, at a school talent show, a new Japanese student played a piano duet with an American classmate. Although they could not communicate verbally, they were able to read the music in order to play the duet. Two students from different cultures worked as a team with self-confidence and common purpose through music.
