March is the month to learn from Lei Feng in China. Lei is probably the most famous     1     soldier (士兵). He helped many people during his 22 years of life. He passed     2     more than 60 years ago. But the “Lei Feng Spirit” still     3     Chinese people to do volunteer work.

The Youth Team of Shougang Winter Olympics Service is one of the volunteer     4     that worked at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The 192 young volunteers worked for 66 days and     5     more than 15, 000 hours of selfless service.

It is not a/an     6     job to work as a volunteer. Liu Junyu, 28, from the team, found out the way to help people get in and out of the venue (场所) more easily and     7    . Other volunteers helped clear 50, 000 square meters of ice and snow each day. This made sure that the tracks (竞赛场地) worked well for the games.

Also, a volunteer needs to     8     a lot. According to Jiang Meng, a 26-year-old volunteer from the Shougang Group, volunteers needed to know all about the venues. They also kept in mind the history and stories behind     9     to better show the beauty of Shougang and Beijing to guests.

5 . David went to a shop to buy fruits. He asked about the price of the fruits. The shopkeeper replied that the pear was ¥8 and the apple was ¥10 per kilo. At the same time, a woman came into the shop and asked the same question. The shopkeeper answered, “The pear is ¥4 and the apple is ¥6 per kilo.” David couldn’t believe his ears and looked at the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper noticed this immediately and let him wait for a while. The woman took the fruits, paid for them and left happily.

After the woman left, the shopkeeper looked toward David and said, “I didn’t want to cheat you.” He continued after a stop, “The woman lives in my neighborhood. She is a poor mother of four. I have tried many times to help her but she refuses to take any help from anyone in our neighborhood. Then I think of this way to help her. Whenever she comes, I sell her fruits at a low price. This way, she won’t feel that she is being helped or depending on others. This is the only way I can offer my help.”

David was moved after learning the story. He hugged the shopkeeper and bought fruits without hesitation (犹豫). More importantly, he learned that if we really want to help others who need help, we will always find a proper way.

I always go to school by bus. I usually ______ the No.7 bus. The traffic is often ______ with lots of buses, cars and all kinds of trucks.
