2.It’s clever to do something else when you want to stop your bad habits. If you get angry easily, for example, you can go out for a walk.

4.If you get too heavy, keep junk food out of your house.

5.Bad habits develop over years, so you can’t get rid of very soon. So you should be patient.

6.Don’t be afraid to ask others for help. You can talk to your friends, family or other people. When you talk to them, they might be able to provide some advice that you can’t get from yourself.

2 . Online shopping is very popular among most Internet users. Almost 85% of Internet users in the US like to shop online. In Korea, 99% of the Internet users say they regularly（定期地）shop online.

Internet shopping is easy, fast and convenient（便捷的）, because people can do the shopping on a computer in any place. When a person visits an online shop, chooses something he or she needs and then pays with a credit card（信用卡）, the process of online shopping has been completed. Several days later, the goods will be delivered to the customer’s home.

There are some other advantages of shopping online. It is more popular during the Christmas shopping season because people can shop online at any time of a day, and they don’t need to wait in long lines in stores. Shopping online allows a person to shop without being crowded. They have the chance to look at the thing they want and come back to it later to decide whether or not to get it.

The British Museum is the biggest one in the world. There are lots of things in the museum to see: clocks which have been telling the time for six hundred years. Roman money, the earliest books in the world, including Shakespeare’s own works…

The British Museum was set up nearly 300 years ago by a doctor. Sir Hans Sloane. The man liked to collect such things as books, drawings, clothes, money, animals, flowers, and also hoped that his things would be well kept and visited by people after his death. His wish came true, and the museum opened in 1759, six years after Sir Hans Sloane died.

Later, more antiques(古董) arrived at the museum, more books, old and new, came to it, and more people wanted to visit it. All this made Pauizzi design the famous round Reading Room. There was something unusual in it. Cool air came up through small holes in the tables. Hot air under the floor kept readers’ feet warm. Since its opening, many famous men have written and studied there, including Karl Marx. And the library is growing faster and faster. Many tourists come to visit it every year.

It is now open every day of the year, except for two holidays (New Year’s Day and Christmas). Entrance(进入) is free. There are lots of special exhibitions (展览) and every day there are different films and talks, some of them for children. So if you are one of its two million visitors this year, don’t try to see it all too quickly. There is a lifetime of looking in the British Museum.

In recent years, mobile phones and e-readers have become more common. Some people worry that the days of paper books will be gone. So we did a survey about paper books. Here is what we have got.

In the UK, sales of e-books are dropping while sales of paper books are rising. More surprisingly, it’s young people who are buying the most paper books. Another survey of university students from the United States, Japan and Germany also showed that 92 percent of them preferred paper books.

The most popular reason was: “I like to hold the product.” It’s true that paper books bring a very different reading experience. Some students said that they liked the smell of paper books. Other students said that they got a sense of accomplishment(成就感) when they finished reading a paper book and they enjoyed seeing it on the bookshelf.

Paper books can also be very personal objects to readers. Many people like to sign their names on the inside cover. If the cover gets bent (弯曲的) or there’s a stain(污点) made from coffee or food, it will make the book even more personal. It’s more like the readers’ old friends.

This “friendship” between people and books isn’t just sentimental (情感的). Studies have shown that readers remember more information from paper books. People also more easily have sore eyes while reading e-books.

It seems that paper books still have an attraction (吸引力). So why not pick up a book and start reading?

8 . If you need to call your parents but your phone is not with you, can you remember their numbers?

To remember 11 numbers is not difficult. However, because of the smartphone. many of us are losing this ability. What’s more, smartphones weaken (削弱) our skills at giving directions.as well as kill face-to-face communications. Even when friends are having a meal together, it’s common for most to check their phones.

According to a report by Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers, an American company, a Chinese people spend about 170 minutes on their smartphones daily.

For students, being addicted to using smartphones does no good to their study. Research by Japan’s Education Ministry showed children who spend more than four hours a day on their phones perform much worse in school tests than those who play with their phones for 30 minutes a day.

It’s true that the smartphone has made our lives easier. But many people also think they spend too much time on it，and this is bad for their study or work. People are trying to change.

A new app (应用软件) called “Forest” was introduced this month. It lets users plant a seed that grows into a tree over the next 30 minutes. During the half hour, users cannot use their phones, or the tree will die.

A restaurant in Los Angeles, US, gives people a 5%discount (折扣) if they don't check their phones during a meal. Owner Mark Gold said that he hoped it could give people a way to enjoy their meal and actually talk with friends and family in person.

9 . A habit is something we do very often. We can have good habits or bad habits. Early to bed, early to rise. Have you ever heard of this old English saying? It means that we must go to bed early at night and get up early in the morning. If we do, we shall be healthy. We shall also be wealthy and wise.

Is this true? Perhaps it is. The body must have enough sleep. Young people of your age need eight hours’ sleep every night. If you do not go to bed early, you cannot have enough sleep. Then you cannot think properly and you cannot do your work properly. You will not be wise and you may not be healthy! Some people go to bed late at night and get up late in the morning.

The dark helps us to sleep properly. When daylight comes, we must get up. This is the time for exercise. Exercise means doing things with the body. Walking, running, jumping, swimming and playing games are all exercise. If the body is not used to it, it becomes weak. Exercise keeps it strong.

Exercise helps the blood move around inside the body. This is very important. Blood makes food for all parts of our bodies. The brains in our heads also need blood. We think with our brains. If we keep our bodies healthy and do exercise, we can think better.

10 . Do you ever find yourself getting really unhappy for almost no reason? Or suddenly feeling down without knowing why? But why is the feeling so common among teens? One important cause for mood swings is biology. When puberty(青春期) begins, the body starts producing hormones(荷尔蒙). These hormones cause physical changes in the body. But in some people, they also seem to cause emotional(情绪的）changes.

Here are some ways to make it a bit easier to deal with those bad moods.

Recognize you're not alone. Although not every teen experiences mood changes to the same degree(程度), they are common.

Talk to people you trust. Friends can help each other by realizing that they're not alone in their feelings. Talking to parents is important, too. Parents can share their own experiences dealing with bad moods. Teachers are often good resources and a doctor can help to answer questions about development.

Get enough sleep. Though it can be hard to find enough time, getting enough rest is very important. Being tired can lead to more sadness.

Create. Taking part in some kinds of activities, like building something out of wood, or starting an art or music piece. Writing can help you organize and express your thoughts and feelings. Get your thoughts on paper. Do the same thing with paint, music, or other art forms. Put your feelings into your art work.
