文章大意:本文主要讲述了《中国青年报》针对“梗”所做的一项调查。

2 . Recently, China Youth Daily has done a survey on memes(梗). They find that 67.34% of the interviewees will share new memes with their friends while the rest of the interviewees say “no”. Some people think that memes can create a relaxing atmosphere, but others think that Internet language should not be widely used in real life. Do you think memes can help social communication?

Chen Shuqi
Memes are created to communicate with others not only online but also in daily communication offline. Most memes have more than one meaning, which helps people express their feelings better. Nowadays, memes have become fashionable in daily lives and have made the Chinese language more diverse(多样化的).
Xia Xiaoyu
Though memes are popular in daily communication, they have some disadvantages. For example, memes are changing so fast that some people will fall behind. Using memes relies on the important premise(前提)that both speakers understand each other. If one of them doesn’t understand, it will be embarrassing. So I suggest that people should use easier words instead of following the crowd blindly.
Zeng Xinyue
Some memes are from movies, comics and other popular entertainment(娱乐). People can use this kind of memes to recognize friends who have the same interests as they do. What’s more, these funny memes can attract more people to share what they like. If you get tired of a boring conversation, you can add proper memes that not only make it lively but also show your sense of humour.
Liu Jiaming
Using certain memes may sometimes resonate(共鸣)with someone, but they can also cause misunderstanding. Recently, the meme “AaBaAaBa” has been popular. But do you know the meme was first used to laugh at the deaf and dumb? What if you were made fun of?
1. Who may probably share the same opinion with Xia Xiaoyu?
A.The writer.B.Chen Shuqi.C.Zeng Xinyue.D.Liu Jiaming.
2. What does Zeng Xinyue think of memes?
A.Memes help to find out friends sharing the same interests.
B.Memes are changing so fast that some people will fall behind.
C.Memes may cause misunderstanding if we use them too much.
D.Memes have made either online or offline dialogues boring.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章讲述印度尼西亚科学家宣布发现了一种罕见的青蛙,这种青蛙没有肺,并且讲述了它变化的原因。

4 . On Thursday, scientists in Indonesia told the public that they found a special frog without lungs and takes breath through its skin. Researchers believe that the little animal could tell us how environment can cause some animals to change so greatly overtime.

The frog was found by a scientific research team in Indonesia last summer. And the team was led by David Bickford, a biologist at the National University of Singapore. The special animal is the world’s first known lungless frog species. Only a few amphibians have been found lungless. “These are about the most ancient and bizarre frog you can get on the earth.” Bickford says.

Frogs’ living environment has been polluted by chemicals from farming. And the team believes it’s possible that the frog may have changed in order to move fast and stay alive in the cold rivers. The team adds that this “extreme change” was probably necessary to make the frog lose the ability to float. That way, it could avoid being swept down the mountain rivers.

Scientists say it’s more important to protect the frog’s river living environment. In the last few years, illegal tree cutting and gold mining have caused the once clean waters to turn brown with pollution.

“The gold mining is completely illegal and small size,” Bickford says. “But when there are thousands of them on the river, it really has a great effect. The frog might be out of the river then.”

4. What can we learn from the last two paragraphs?
A.It’s high time to protect the frog’s living environment.B.The frog will have to live on land in the near future.
C.The importance of frogs should be known by the public.D.Gold mining is the main cause of water pollution.

7 . Do you get lots of reading tasks as part of your homework? You might wish that you could read faster. There are some people who say that you can learn to read at super-high speeds. But experts disagree on this idea.

"Speed reading is not actually possible," said Elizabeth Schotter, a scientist at the University of South Florida, US. Schotter pointed out that people who say that they can teach others how to speed read are usually doing it to make money by selling courses and books.

In fact, speed reading has been made known to people since 1959, when US educator Evelyn Wood introduced a speed reading program. Several US presidents have even asked their officers to take sped reading courses. However, there is no real science behind sped reading.

Schotter explained that reading is a task difficult to finish. It includes four steps: seeing a word, getting back its meaning from your memory, connecting it to other words. in the same sentence, and then moving on to the next word, This process uses many parts of the brain at one time. It can't be sped up.

Some people who say they are able to speed read are simply skimming. Skimming involves reading a passage quickly and only looking for certain words or sentences. Skimmers can figure out the main idea of a passage—especially if it's a topic they're familiar with—but they will not be able to remember all the pieces of information.

So is there a way to become a faster reader? Research suggests that you should try to improve the number of your words and simply read more.

1. According to Schotter, which of the following is TRUE?
A.It's good for students to read at super-high speeds.
B.Speed reading courses are supported by real science.
C.Reading includes four steps, it`s not easy to finish
