Yesterday I was very busy with deliveries and collections so I was determined take today at a slight slower pace. I join a Zoom call this morning to discuss and write in flash fiction. Before the call, I was listening to a speech about love, who I listened to last year and the host was discussing how we could love people who comes from a different culture to our own. The man spoke about Native American Initiation Ceremonies in their speech. I had written the flash story the other day but I mentioned Native American ceremonies in the story. I am used to reading English classics in our spare time. I always enjoy myself following the stories and communicate with the characters. I enjoy learning English but can remember individual words easy. However, when it comes to reading comprehension, it’s really the challenge. Last weekend, I tried to read a storybook write in English to improve my reading. At first, I refer to the dictionary every time I came across a new word, which I found it not very helpful. I often felt puzzling about what I had read. Then I tried to finish a chapter completely with looking up the new words. What surprised me was I could understand the story merely from the context. I hope I will make great progresses in English in this way.

It was Father’s Day. Having been finished my homework, I together with my sister went to buy some vegetables as well as a gift as planned. We were supposed to giving our father a big surprise. As the development of technology, more and more students prefer to use electric products for taking notes and sending messages, rather than writing on the paper. However, our handwriting is not as good as it is in the past. Face the problem, we should do as follows:

I used to follow other people’s methods of learn English, but I don’t get good grades. But I decided to combine my hobbies and to learning English. Now I often watch British dramas and listen to English songs what are popular over and over again. After repeatedly listening and watching, I learn new words, authentic expression and Western thinking patterns. I also read few foreign books like the Harry Potter series and listen to short audio courses and stories. Those things allows me to improve your English ability, not just English scores.
