When I was young, I was really a quietly girl without any interest in sports. Nor I know what volleyball was. However, a competitive match in the 2016 Olympic Games totally changed me. Last Monday, when I was taken a walk with my mother, I noticed some litter on the sidewalk. I knew it was time to take action. So on our way to home, we decided to do some clean-up work. I took a picker and my mother hold a big rubbish bag. Together they did litter pickup on the sidewalk. I was surprising that the bag filled up so quick. Then we threw it into the roadside dustbin but repeated the process two more time. It gave us a sense of satisfaction to know we did which we could for Mother Earth. On Friday, March 13, my six-year-old son came to home with a pack of worksheets in his backpack. Then I got the terrified email what said school would close for at least two weeks. The COVID-19 quarantine has begun. My initially reaction, after several day of uncertainty and anxiety over if schools would close, was a relief. At least now I would know he was home safe. I spent the weekend dig in my home like the groundhogs in my backyard, setting up classroom on my dining room table, gathering pencils and paper. I thought I wouldn’t have problems stayed calm during quarantine.
