文章大意:这是一篇说明文。文章指出虚拟现实技术不再仅限于游戏或娱乐。一家名为Blue Goji的美国公司通过虚拟现实技术使锻炼更加有趣来吸引人们锻炼身体、改善健康状况。

2 . Businesses are finding more uses for virtual reality (VR) as the technology develops.

VR is no longer only for gaming or enjoyment. An American company called Blue Goji is using VR to improve one’s health by making exercise more fun.

Blue Goji has offices in Austin, the capital of Texas. The company showed its workout machine called the Infinity treadmill (跑步机) at the South by Southwest festival. A person using the treadmill wears a virtual reality headset when exercising. Before starting, the user is connected to a belt to prevent falls. Then, the user plays a VR game while running on the machine. The game can transport the user into the virtual world, where he or she can be racing against virtual people.

The cost of the hardware and the computer software program is $12,000. That means much for most people. But Kyra Constam of Blue Goji says the virtual reality treadmill is ideal for places where people go to exercise, like high-end gyms or recreation centers.

Recently, Leonardo Mattiazzi tested the Infinity treadmill. Mattiazzi said he had a strong feeling to actually get running and do something that pushed his limits. He said the experience was more interesting than running inside the gym without actually going anywhere.

Constam noted that a lot of VR experiences cause motion sickness (晕动病) because people are in motion during the game, but not moving in real life. But when the user is moving on the treadmill and in the game, the chances of motion sickness are reduced. She said there is generally a learning curve for VR. The first time users feel lost, but the more you do it, the more you get used to it.

After carefully studying the users experiences, Blue Goji plans to begin selling the Infinity treadmill to the public.

1. What are users most likely to do after running on the Infinity treadmill?
A.Make more new friends.B.Gain more useful skills.
C.Be fonder of exercising.D.Prefer playing computer games.
2. What do we know about the Infinity treadmill?

C.Users can race against anyone.D.It can be bought in high-end gyms.
3. How did Leonardo Mattiazzi feel about the Infinity treadmill?
A.SatisfiedB.Disappointed.
C.Doubtful.D.Indifferent.
4. What is the main purpose of the text?

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了从良好的饮食习惯、定期的体育锻炼、以及远离酗酒三个方面构建健康的生活方式。

5 . Living a healthy lifestyle contains making choices about the foods we eat as well as exercise and other daily activities. The term “healthy lifestyle” can be defined as “to improve and protect one’s health and well-being”. For this purpose, a healthy lifestyle can include good eating habits, regular physical activity and anti-alcoholism (抗酒精中毒).

First of all, good eating habits are the main way of living a healthy lifestyle. For instance, rushed morning routines, trying to lose weight, and lack of appetite (食欲) early in the morning are all reasons why people skip breakfast (不吃早餐). However, most experts think that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Another example is fast food; a hamburger from McDonald’s with special sauce and cheese is not exactly considered as a healthy meal. Our society today is developing fast and people are on the go at all times. It is much easier to stop and get fast food. As a result, humans become fatter. However, eating low-fat meals that include 5 to 9 serving of fruits and vegetables every day is an ideal healthy life plan. Therefore, good eating habits are the main way of living a healthy lifestyle.

Secondly, another way of living a healthy lifestyle is physical activity. Exercise is indeed part of life because it keeps the body and mind in good shape. Exercise reduces stress and contributes to (有助于) a good sleep. It can keep a person looking and feeling younger throughout his entire life, and it also helps build one’s energy and strength. So, physical activity is another way of living a healthy lifestyle.

Finally, another way is anti-alcoholism. Addiction to alcohol may cause serious social and public problems. It is accepted that driving after drinking is dangerous. Alcohol is a main factor of traffic deaths. Alcoholism can also lead to diseases, such as heart attack or liver trouble. Thus, anti-alcoholism is another way for a healthy lifestyle.

In conclusion, a healthy lifestyle can be maintained in three ways: the first way is good eating habits, the second way is regular physical activity and the final way is anti-alcoholism.

1. When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, which of the following is not mentioned in the passage?
A.Good eating habits.B.Anti-alcoholism.
C.Physical activity.D.Losing weight.
2. What does the underlined phrase “on the go” mean?
A.Busy.B.Boring.C.Hard.D.Happy.
3. According to the text, how can we feel younger throughout our life?
A.By avoiding fast food.B.By being happy every day.
C.By taking regular exercise.D.By wearing some special clothes.
4. In what column are you most likely to find this text?
A.Life.B.Sports.C.Economy.D.Advertisement.

6 . There are many ways to travel within a city. We can walk, cycle, or take a bus. But no matter which way we travel, we have to stick to the route (线路) the city planners laid down for us.

Parkour practitioners (跑酷爱好者), however, see the city in a completely different way. To them, there are no fixed routes. There are no walls and no stairs — since they jump, climb, roll and crawl to move across, through, over and under anything that they find in their path. The city is their playground.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has noticed that this activity is drawing more and more people to it — there are 100,000 people taking part in parkour today in the UK alone, according to The Guardian — and how it is helpful for people to be much stronger: It trains coordination (协调性) and balance. So the organization is thinking about recognizing parkour as a new sport and adding it to the Olympics by 2024.

But parkour practitioners themselves don’t seem to be happy with the idea. “They see parkour as a lifestyle,” wrote the website NextSportStar. “It’s a competition against the conditions rather than just a sport.”

“Indeed, many do parkour just to escape the daily routine (常规) and experience the city in different ways,” wrote reporter Oli Mould on The Conversation. They see parkour as a way to express themselves through relaxing moves and creative routes while freeing themselves from the pressure.

It’s great that the FIG wants to develop a new sport and stay close to a new cultural form. But it would be greater if they knew that not everything in life is a competition.

1. How do the parkour practitioners do parkour?
A.They move on as they wish.B.They plan the way in advance
C.They run faster than others.D.They stick to certain routes.
2. Why does the FIG want to add parkour to the Olympics?
A.It’s a special way of life.
B.It draws their attention.
C.It’s good for people to keep healthy.
D.It needs some rules and instructions.
3. What do parkour practitioners think of parkour?
A.It is more formal than other sports.
B.It is a creative way of life.
C.It’s worth adding to the sporting event.
D.It calls on people to work as a team.
4. What is the best title for the passage?
A.A new sports competitionB.Parkour practitioners
C.Training in a different wayD.Making the city their own

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍了一些预防在体育运动中受伤的措施。

7 . Playing sports is a lot of fun, but getting hurt is not.     1

Wear protective equipment.

The equipment you wear depends on the sport you play. Helmets (头盔) are the most common protective equipment. They protect your head while you’re playing football, baseball, softball, biking, skateboarding, and so on.

Warm up.

2     Doing some stretching (伸展) can get you prepared to hit the field. By warming up, you get yourself ready to play. Warming up your muscles and practicing a sport help keep you safe, too.

Know the rules of the games.

Traffic lights help prevent crashes between the many cars that drive on the roads together. This works because drivers know the rules and follow them.     3     When players know the rules of the game, fewer injuries happen. For example, you know that in soccer you can’t come from behind, crash into a player’s legs, and steal the ball.

    4

Some rules don’t have anything to do with scoring points. Some rules are just about protecting other people. For example, a diver would make sure that the pool was clear before diving in. Otherwise, he or she might land on someone else.

    5

This is a really important one. If you love sports, you may get right back in the game, even after an injury. But playing when you’re hurt is a bad idea. It can lead to an even worse injury.

A.You can take the following steps to prevent injuries .
B.It’s just like sports.
C.Don’t play when you’re injured.
D.Don’t do too much exercise.
E.You and the other players know what to expect from each other.
F.It’s not a good idea to just go to the field and start playing.
G.Take care of others.

9 . It can be incredibly difficult to encourage ourselves to go for a run during winter, particularly when it’s wet and windy outside. But new research has found that even a super-quick run could have great health benefits. In fact , it seems that just a 10-minute session will not only make us feel better, but could actually improve brain health, too. Now, we all know that exercise can improve mental and physical health in many ways.

But when it comes to mental well-being, there’s been relatively little research done on the specific benefits of running, compared with other physical activities, such as cycling. So this was something put to the test during a recent study. Researchers from University of Tsukuba in Japan asked participants (参加者) to run on a treadmill (跑步机) for just 10 minutes. They then had to take a Stroop Color and Word Test which is used to measure reaction time in brain processing. Results showed there was a highest point in self-reported pleasure and an increase in degree of activity of the brain.

In other words, runners were found to have an increase in blood flow in the part of the brain that’s associated with dealing with functions and controlling mood (情绪). Researchers then compared these results to a similar study on cycling, which also showed improved cognition (认知), but no mood improvement. Therefore, it seems various types of exercise can make us feel differently.

The authors noted, “Given exercise is medicine, the effects of drugs differ depending on the type of drug, and different types of exercise such as running and cycling should be observed to have different effects on mental health and brain functions as well.”

So pushing ourselves to get outside for a run really will make us feel better, probably more than other fitness activities. And these findings show that we don’t necessarily need to do a lot of exercise to feel the benefit of it

1. What suggestion does the result of the new research offer?
A.Running in windy weather makes you stronger.
B.A short distance running can benefit a lot.
C.A 10-minute running is the best exercise.
D.Running can make people live longer.
2. How did the researchers carry out their research?
A.By asking participants to do a test after running.
B.By asking participants to run outside.
C.By connecting the participants brain to a machine.
D.By recording the activities of the brain.
3. Why does running give people more pleasure?
A.Because running can build up people’s strength.
B.Because running control people’s mood.
C.Because running can let the brain work effectively.
D.Because running can produce more blood.
4. What does the author probably agree with?
A.Doing exercises can cure people’s illnesses.
B.Running has a similar function to cycling.
C.Different exercises affect health differently.
D.Running is better than any other exercises.

10 . Walking, the world’s most natural exercise, is one of the best ways to keep healthy. It is less dangerous than running. Walking strengthens muscles without stretching them too much and it puts less pressure on bones and joints. Many people are active in what is called fitness walking. They take short walks a few times each week to improve their health. Fitness walking can be done in groups or alone almost anywhere and anytime. No special equipment is needed.

Experts advise drinking some water before and after each walk and also gently stretching the muscles and joints that are most likely to become tense during the exercise.

The most effective way to walk is the natural way. Keep your head high and your back straight. In fitness walking it is important to remember your footsteps should fall almost in a straight line. Bend your arms at elbows. Let them swing from the shoulders with each step.

Walking is good for the health of your body. And studies have provided details about the link between walking and your emotional health. A group of subjects were asked to describe their feelings of energy and tension before a ten-minute fast walk. When they returned, they felt less tired and more full of energy. This feeling lasted one hour. Even after 2 hours the students felt less tired than they had before the experiment.

Short walks can also help make personal problems seem less serious. One group of subjects described the seriousness of their personal problems such as job worries, or failing marriage. They went for a ten-minute fast walk. When they came back, they said their problems seemed less threatening. Improvements were not observed everyday, but after 3 weeks, the differences became very clear.

1. Which of the following makes walking a good way to keep healthy?
A.It strengthens muscles.
B.It greatly stretches muscles.
C.It reduces pressure on joints.
D.It puts much pressure on bones.
2. What is suggested to prepare for a walk?
A.Getting equipped.
