文章大意:本文主要讲述皮影戏历史悠久,面临消失风险,传承人刘朝侃通过融入新故事和现代元素吸引年轻人,同时尊重和保护其传统。

4 . Shadow puppetry (皮影戏) started during the Western Han Dynasty and it has a long history of more than 2,000 years. It used to be popular in the countryside because it was simple and cheap.

The puppets are usually made from leather (皮革) or paper. It is hard to make them. The puppet-makers have to take 24 steps, which include washing the leather, carving (雕刻) and painting, to make a puppet.

Just like many things that are in danger, traditional arts also face the risk of disappearing. “Many young people still think that shadow puppetry is an old-fashioned folk art.” said Liu Chaokan, the sixth-generation inheritor (继承人) of shadow puppetry in Yunnan province.

Liu understands why old art forms couldn’t interest young people, so he connects new stories with the traditional form of storytelling. In a recent show based on the ancient Chinese novel Journey to the West, Baigujing dances to a Korean pop song. Popular Chinese cartoon characters, together with the modern factors (元素), are Liu’s secret in getting the attention of children. “Since they couldn’t understand those old stories, why don’t we show them the cartoon characters they love in shadow puppetry shows?” said Liu.

To keep the old art forever young, Liu thinks they should respect (尊重) its traditions and protect the basic of the art.

1. What are the puppets made from?
____________________
2. How do many young people feel about shadow puppetry according to Liu Chaokan?
____________________
3. Which ancient Chinese novel is mentioned in the passage?

4. Do you think traditional arts like shadow puppetry will disappear? Why or why not? Write 30 words or more.

文章大意:本文主要讲述了作者虎跳峡徒步旅行的经历及意义。

7 . Most foreigners go to the Great Wall for their first visit to China. But I have never wanted to follow the crowd. On my friend’s advice, I picked one of the country’s natural treasures:Tiger Leaping Gorge (虎跳峡)in Yunnan Province.

To discover its real beauty, I decided to hike in the gorge. The hike was tiring. However, it was one of the most memorable (难忘的) trips ever.

The first part of my hike was to run through green wheat fields. At this point, it was easy to enjoy the view and take photos.

Then, I reached perhaps the hardest part of the hike. It was called “Twenty-eight Bends (拐)”. Right after I walked for a while, I saw a sign that read, “Get ready for 28 bends!” There was no need to be afraid, though. Several local villagers were waiting by the side of the road with their donkeys (驴). Anytime a hiker needed a ride, he or she could hand over a few coins.

After these bends, the hike became easier. Most people ended their first-day hike at a halfway hotel in the early evening, just in time for a beautiful sunset. As another hiker said, “It was a perfect ‘postcard’.”

The second day was less tiring. I walked slowly across a bamboo forest that led to a small riverside. There were many streams. A waterfall was flowing directly over the road. In the early afternoon, I reached the end of the hike.

If you are looking for natural wonders and taking a risk, Tiger Leaping Gorge is worth the time and effort!

文章大意:本文介绍了格陵兰大峡谷的发现及形成原因。
9 . 阅读短文,从文后所给的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,其中有一个多余的选项。

Most of Greenland (格陵兰岛) is white because it’s covered with snow and ice, which is different from what its called. A special canyon (峡谷) was found there.

1     Under all that snow and ice lies a rocky world. And the Greenland Grand Canyon is there.

In 2013, a group of scientists was studying the environment in Greenland. They were using special tools to look for the rocks deep below the ice.     2     The canyon starts in the central part of the island and runs north to the Arctic Ocean (北冰洋).

The canyon runs for at least 750 kilometers and is 800 meters deep. It is longer than any other canyon on Earth and is nearly as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States.     3

How was Greenland’s Grand Canyon formed? There are two possible ways. The first is that the canyon was formed by huge ice. When ice slowly moved across the land, it cut its surface and created deep holes.     4     For the last two million years, the world temperatures have gone up and down many times. When they go up, a lot of water melt (融化) from Greenland’s ice and flows into the ocean. The plenty of water formed the long deep canyon.

The discovery of Greenland’s icy Grand Canyon is quite surprising. The canyon also helps scientists understand the history of Greenland.

A.The beautiful scenery of Greenland Grand Canyon.
B.While doing this, they found one of the world’s largest canyons.
C.The other is that the canyon was formed by huge rivers in the past.
D.In some parts of Greenland, the ice goes two miles into the ground.
E.Because of its size, it has been named the, “Grand Canyon of Greenland”.
